The Spring Trophy Rockfish season opens the 3rd Saturday of April and runs through the 2nd week in May, with a 35" minimum size and a limit of 1 fish per person. This is the time to catch that fish of a lifetime or maybe even break the State Record.
The Summer/Fall rockfish season starts May 16 and runs through December 15 with a 2 fish over 20" per person limit, only one of which can be over 28".
Fishing should get into full swing in mid June. We'll be trolling and chumming for rockfish and bluefish, bottom fishing for spot, perch and other species through the end of summer.
Typically the end of July, along with the months of August and September, offer excellent light tackle fishing for rockfish and bluefish. Live lining, chunking and chumming (call for details), and bottom fishing should be at their peak during these months.
September and October bring some excellent fishing for rock, blues, and trout as the Fall migration begins. Late November and early December will give you another chance to catch the big rockfish on their Fall migration.
